Boaz is 6th months old!

Wow, I can't believe it's been a month since I posted on here last.  Can you tell it's been super busy around here?!?  Major change is about to hit us at full speed!  I'll fill you in a little bit:  we are selling our house and plan to close on the 10th of August, our 10 year anniversary; we are changing churches to be a part of a church plant on the west side of Wichita and Justin is going to be the youth pastor;  Jordan is starting kindergarten next month and will be going with Justin to the new school he's been assigned to this year;  and Justin will be finishing up his seminary degree and is on his way to becoming a Chaplain in the Air National Guard.  It's going to be crazy, but I think it will be a good time:)

Anyway, on to Boaz turning 6 months!  Half a year already, wow!  6 months is a huge milestone.  At six months, babies rapidly gain control over their movements and their personalities begin to really come out.  They become less like babies and more like little toddlers.

At six months:

--Boaz has learned to reach for and grab everything in sight.  Nothing is safe to leave within his reach anymore!

--Bo has been walking himself around the house in his walker for about a week now.  He actually has purposeful movements and seems to go where he is intending to go.  He especially likes to grab the trash bag from the trash can and the silverware in the dishwasher if I forget to close the door.  This also means that we are using our baby gate once again.

--The baby toys are getting played with again, too!  He loves grabbing, shaking, or throwing his toys and the girls think it's fun that he can "play" with them now.

--As Bo becomes more aware of what's going on, he's learned to fuss and whine when he doesn't get his way.  Boy, does that whining start early!  He will actually throw a little fit when a toy gets taken away!

--Bo is still nursing, as there is not much of an alternative.  This is the longest any of my babies have nursed.  Just about two weeks ago he started his first "solid" foods.  I think I may have made things harder for me down the road as I got him to eat his rice cereal with applesauce mixed in.  Mmmm, applesauce!  I think he was always hungry, as I don't seem to produce much milk, and I'm hoping the solids will help fill him up more.  Maybe now he will start sleeping through the night!

--Speaking of night-time:  Bo wakes up more as he gets older than he did when he was first born!  I really do pray that solids will help with that!  And since he's been eating solids, he poops a lot less and they are more solid too.

--Bo's eczema is still pretty bad, especially on his arms, neck, and the backs of his knees.  You'll notice in the pictures that he has a bandaid on one of his arms.  He constantly rubs it and causes oozing and sometimes bleeding.  It's got to be so irritating for him.

--Bo is such a laid-back little dude.  Yes, he moves constantly, but he's content most of the time.  Such an easy-going baby.

--I'm sure there's a lot more that I could post, but this mama is tired and ready to go to bed!  Happy 6th month birthday Boaz!  You are such a blessing to us!
