Pinterest

Anyone else addicted to Pinterest???  I saw this cool project on pinterest a week or so ago and thought that I just had to do it with pictures of my three kids as babies.  I haven't done it yet, but I really want to.  You basically mod podge photos to a canvas.  There's a step by step tutorial if you go to the link.

Here are the pictures I want to use.  I have a picture of Jordan on a CD from Portrait Innovations I would like to use, but I can't find the CD.  Bummer.

Zoo

Here are a few of my favorite pics from the zoo today.  We went with my friend Yvonne and her son, Evan.

Butterfly

The butterflies are swarming at our house!  They've really gathered around these purple flowers.  I love nature and the beginnings of summer!

More Practice with Window Light

A little more practice with window light (and the miracle of photoshop!)  See his mittens?  He has a bad case of eczema and he scratches himself badly, so they are worn to protect his little baby skin.

Botanica

We were going to go to the zoo today, but went to Botanica instead.  Here's a little peek into our explorations there...

Always moving!

Look at all those HUGE roley poleys (how in the world do you spell that???)

Of course we saw plenty of beautiful flowers

And when this one needed fed and changed...
...these two played doctor.

Never stops moving!

Still got to see butterflies, even if there weren't any in the butterfly house.

And I have to tickle these two to get any smiles out of them!

Working hard to water the plants...

Sitting pretty.

What a cool tree.

First milestone in becoming mobile

Look at what my little man did this morning...

...he rolled from is back to his tummy!  If you are a little worried that it could have been the other way, don't be.  I was right there beside him, keeping him safe:)  That is, until I jumped up to get the camera!

Look who found his hands

"OK, enough, Mom."

We can't leave out those toesies...

Limited Blogging Skills!

I cannot figure out how to post to a specific page!  I want my photography stuff to be under the adventures in photography tab and I don't know how to do it :-(

Window Light Fan

I'm becoming a fan of window light.  I still haven't learned how to take decent pictures with indoor light while using the manual mode, so this is how I can take pictures inside.  I have one good window on the north side of the house that works out okay.

I wanted to share with you the first thing I learned about shooting in manual mode:  it doesn't mean that I have to use manual focus!  Shooting manually just means that YOU control the exposure, not the camera.  The camera can still focus for you...that was good for me to know.  If you want to focus manually, go ahead, but it's not required.  And, before I got this book, I didn't even know what exposure was, let alone how to control it.  It turns out that it's fairly simple.  I recommend checking it out.

If you're wondering why I always take pictures of Bo, it's because he's the only one that will hold still for me!
I wish I had a little bit better angle on this one because his cheeks are a little distorted.

I like the dramatic look of this one.

Baby Sneeze!

This one has the same black and white settings as the ones above, but the lighter background makes all the difference.
